Many thanks to the Business Liaison Assn – our students really enjoyed Dr Stok’s visit and I appreciate the support you offer us in getting lecturers out into rural communities. The students particularly liked the cross over between Chemistry and Art – this was something I’m sure none of them had really considered. The photo’s we took were from the back of the auditorium (which are in our eagle eye newsletter which is released to the community) as our photographer didn’t want to interrupt the presentation - there are no student faces in them, however, the quality did not really turn out to be all that great. I’ve attached one below to show you what I mean. I’ll endeavour to get a better snap next year if we have another visit.

Thank you for organising Dr Jeanette Stok visit to ISC. She saw 4 classes about 70 students. Senior chemistry and year 9 extension science. Our students enjoyed the presentation and if I can say his for year 9s on a Friday afternoon, I’m sure you’ll agree that she did an amazing job. The students were engaged, asked high level questions and learned about a facet of chemistry that no one had thought about. She also revisited and checked for understanding of content previously covered in 9 science such as oxidation and light. The organic chemistry at a higher level was valuable learning for the year 11s. A true STEAM champion.
