The DATTA Awards are offered to Design Technology Students in Junior and Senior Secondary in Far North Qld. The awards aim to promote the study of Design Technology Subjects in secondary schools, and to encourage students who study these subjects to demonstrate their technical knowledge as well as design skills and craftmanship. The Awards were first offered in 1993 and were called the Industrial Technology and Design Awards. The first sponsor of the awards was Cairns Region Group Training (now Skill360 Australia), and we are very proud of the fact that they have remained a sponsor of these awards for the past 30 years. The DATTA awards expanded over the years with continued support of our sponsors. The Awards now encompass innovation, enterprise and environmental sustainability.
Students are strongly encouraged to enter and participate as judging of all entries is undertaken by an Industry Panel based on current industry standards. This endorsement by an Industry Panel is a tremendous value add and opportunity for students seeking a career in this industry.
Students will also receive financial prizes that will assist them in continuing studies in this area.
