Aspirations Day   The Business Liaison Association is proud to support a Cairns State High School initiative Aspirations Day and Navigating Our Narratives Public Speaking Competition.  Held at Cairns State High School and in conjunction with Cairns Central Travel, Aspirations Day aims to develop proficiency in 21st Century skills and provide learners with the opportunity to meet with representatives from professional organisaitons, associations and academeic institutions.   Students from regional schools are afforded the opportunity to share their musings, develop their public speaking prowess and meet inspirational individuals. DATTA Awards Competitions 2019

Celebrating Excellence in Design and Technology This year a record number of 250 student entries were received for the 18th Annual BLA DATTA Awards. On Thursday 31st October, the region’s best Design Technology students were showcased and honoured for their excellence. The Business Liaison Association BLA) and Design and Technology Teachers' Association of Queensland DATTA) joined forces to coordinate the 18th Annual DATTA Awards Presentation Night. Over 300 people attended the awards presentation where students were recognised for their technical knowledge and creative skills. Cairns Hardware Site Visit - Smithfield State High School

CAIRNS HARDWARE SITE VISIT SMITHFIELD STATE HIGH SCHOOL Thank you for another amazing opportunity to see industry in action. Ten students from Smithfield High Schools year 10 furnishing class were selected to represent the school on an industry day that covered a range of local manufacturing plants for the building industry.  Students were impressed that Cairns Hardware offers such a wide range of products, employing local people and delivering as far north as the Tosses Strait. Like Carrie said, Cairns Hardware does it all from footings to final fit-out". This was a real eye-opener for students who are looking for an alternative career pathway....
