The Cairns Show Association is a Not for Profit Organisation and consists of a volunteer Committee of 37 members who willingly dedicate their time during the year to assist with the smooth running of the various events held. As well as producing the Cairns Show in July, the Cairns Show Association also conducts the Cairns Show Wine Awards in June and the Cairns Show Auto Spectacular in September. The Committee are supported by a small team of seven dedicated full-time staff.
The Cairns Show Association’s Aims are:
~ Promote the Cairns Region through the staging of Shows and Events featuring the agricultural, pastoral, horticultural and industrial wealth of the district.
~ Market the Showgrounds and Facilities to Community and Commercial groups looking for a suitable, central and cost-effective Events Venue.
~ Provide the Grounds for the use of sport and recreation interests of the Community.
Over the years the Committee and staff have worked steadfastly to produce a great Show for the Community to enjoy. Through their diligence the Cairns Show has earned the title of being the largest Regional Show in Australia for the past decade. It attracts over 75,000 visitors for the three- day event. The Show has continued to grow and through constant change and updating it has adapted to the demands of the 21st Century.
The annual Cairns Show is a community event which showcases the very best of Far North Qld Agricultural, Pastoral and Mining Industries and brings the country to the city. Cairns Show has been in operation since 1891 except for a short hiatus when it was closed during the Great Depression.
The Cairns Show Association is an incorporated body and is sustainable due to the ongoing support of Sponsors, State and Federal Government funding. The Cairns Show Association also relies on the wonderful assistance of the many volunteers during the Show period and during our other Events. Without this generosity, the Cairns Show Association would indeed not exist.

Catholic Education Diocese of Cairns
Catholic schools are welcoming and affordable!
More and more families are discovering just how accessible Catholic schools are with flexible eligibility criteria and affordable fees, discounts and concessions.
They also value the safe and caring environment of a Catholic school; where individuals matter and students are nurtured to be the best that they can be.
Values generating fundamental attitudes of respect and courtesy to each other and a sense of responsibility to oneself and others are taught, contributing to the high standards of behaviour, favourable learning environments and quality education that Catholic schools are known for.
Catholic schools are largely funded by government, however to make up for the shortfall in government funding, Catholic schools are also reliant upon school fees paid by parents. A balance is struck in setting fees that remain affordable for most families and providing concessions to those in genuine need so that Catholic schools can continue their historic role of providing access to quality education for all.
Visit the Cairns Catholic Education website at www.cns.catholic.edu.au and search ‘Mythbusting FAQs’ to get the facts around Catholic school enrolling.
Further information and contact details of the Cairns Diocese's 29 schools and colleges can also be found on the website, or phone 4050 9700.

"At EFEX, supporting our local community is very important to us and as a Premium Sponsor, the BLA has allowed us to support this amazing organisation in educating the next generation of local secondary school students as they move into the next stage of their career. It has also allowed us to promote and grow our business through the numerous network events put on by the hard-working team at the BLA throughout the year"
"Star102.7 is a proud sponsor of the Business Liaison Association for quite some years. It's amazing to see the commitment the team has to not only support and encourage Cairns' students, but they also bring sponsors together to network. We can highly recommend any business becoming a sponsor."
