CAIRNS YOUTH & CAREERS EXPO 2020

As a result of the COVID-19 and the social distancing that has been imposed, we decided to move the Annual Cairns Youth & Careers Expo to
Thursday 27 August, 2020
The reason for not canceling the Expo was that
- the #Classof2020 is certainly having a senior year with a difference. They have had numerous hurdles to overcome already and we haven't even reached Term 3 yet. We feel that it is important for all these Year 12's to attend this year's Expo to ensure that their Year 13 is the light at the end of the tunnel. That their career is there for the taking.
- All senior students have been challenged with at-home education since returning in Term 2 and we are hoping that the Expo will be an exciting experience for all students in Years 10, 11, and 12. Allowing them to connect with representatives from Universities, Accommodation Providers, Vocational Pathways, and Apprenticeship and Traineeship opportunities.
- The Expo also provides a number of wellbeing companies on-site to assist those students who are quietly not coping... and feel that they can't ask for help. These companies offer a soft touch to the students.
We will keep you informed as social distancing restrictions are lifted and how we intend to run the event. In the meantime, we remain optimistic that the remainder of 2020 will be a positive one for our students. We look forward to seeing you all there!
Kind regards
