Site Visits Restarting

INDUSTRY SITE VISITS

 

The Business Liaison Association is so happy COVID-19 restrictions have lifted enough for us to begin running our Site Visits for students again.

 

ERGON ENERGY

This month Ergon Energy has kindly offered to host site visits to promote their upcoming Apprentice and Gradutate Recruitment Drive. 

Career information and pathways with Ergon Energy are explained to students and the qualifications required are outlined during the 2 hour site visits.

Ergon Energy's Apprentice and Graduate Recruitment Drive has positions available in the areas of Operations, Design, Engineering and Innovation.  Students interested in Trades/Apprenticeships or Engineering positions with Ergon Energy are encouraged to discuss with their school staff.

 

NORWELD AUSTRALIA

In Term 4 Norweld  Australia is also offering Site Visits to their Cairns facility.  Norweld Australia manufacture Aluminium Ute Trays and Canopies and four wheel drive accessories with offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne as well as agents in other states.  Norweld has an emerging international market in the USA, Middle East, New Zealand and South Afrrica.

Norweld Cairns has a major presence in the marine and aviation industries through its Repairs and Fabrication Division. As a manufacturer in the evolving global market, Norweld is leading the way in transforming itself with the adoption and application of the latest advanced manufacturing technologies. 

Students from Years 10, 11 and 12 will view router machines and presses in action and visit each division to see the role played in maunufacturing the finished product. The Site Visit covers drafting of fabricated items and manufacturing of aluminium goods.

Students interested in participating are advised to speak with their school staff.

All Site Visits will comply with current COVID requirements as well as required PPE and suitable attire for visitors.
