More than 20 awards and competitions were offered at the 9th annual Aspire Awards Presentation Night hosted by the Business Liaison Association with over $40,000 of scholarships, bursaries and prizes available.
More than 550 people attended the awards presentation night to honour and celebrate the secondary students as they get set for their future.
The Aspire Awards provide incentives and opportunities for secondary students across Far North Queensland in a range of curriculum areas.
The awards are judged by an industry panel and are also financed by businesses across a range of industries and professions.
Kerrie Stanley, Executive Officer of Business Liaison Association is delighted with the wonderful support from local companies with more than 42 industry sponsors and supporters participating.
“Each year, a growing number of businesses in Cairns and beyond join with us to create our awards and give the youth of FNQ some incredible opportunities and career pathways to take advantage of as they exit Year 12. Without these industry sponsors, the Aspire Awards would not be possible,” says Kerrie.
The Business Liaison Association has been offering awards, competitions, and bursaries since 1993 with a vision to improve the lives of almost 11,000 secondary school students from across Far North Queensland from Tully to the tip of Cape York by facilitating exciting collaborations between students, educators, and the business community.
