About James Cook University
James Cook University is a leading university for the tropics, with a strong focus on education, research and community engagement across North Queensland and beyond. JCU offers study pathways across health, science, engineering, business, law, education, technology and many other disciplines. As a long-term supporter of regional students, the University helps young people explore tertiary education, understand course options and connect their interests with future careers. Through events such as Open Day and its involvement in BLA programs, JCU gives prospective students opportunities to speak directly with academics and current students, experience campus facilities and obtain practical guidance about applications, support services and university life.
JCU Cairns Open Day
JCU Open Day allows future students and their families to explore the Cairns campus, meet staff and current students, tour facilities and learn more about university life. Attendees can speak one-on-one with academics, ask questions about courses and career pathways, and obtain information about applications, entry requirements and student support. The event is particularly valuable for senior secondary students who are comparing study options or planning their transition from school to tertiary education.
