Bridging pathways between education, training and employment.
The awards are open to senior secondary students in years eleven (11) and twelve (12) currently participating in biology, marine science, chemistry, geography, earth science, and environmental science or other science subjects. They must have attained a high achievement or better on the school assessment and who wish to pursue a career in science or its many related fields.
The assignment shall be to conduct a student experiment or research investigation, such that students need to respond to a claim, develop a research question and use primary and/or secondary data to answer that question. This may comprise a field study, laboratory, research investigation, classroom experiment or literature-based investigation work. This is to be carried out to demonstrate students’ understanding of land uses, waterways, catchment health and linkages of creeks, rivers, estuary, beach, and oceans.
