On Thursday 27 February, we hosted a breakfast for the students in our region with Mr Scott Millar - CEO of BOP Industries. A special thank you to our wonderful sponsors My Pathway and to our MC's Dany Carline and Austin Meiket from Smithfield State High School.
Scott Millar is the 19-year-old founder of BOP Industries, a Brisbane based holographic entertainment startup working to not only develop new and emerging technologies but to teach others to do the same.
Scott and his team have designed and created a range of hologram displays (think Star Wars) ranging from the size of a phone and tablet, up to their life-sized, two-metre-tall units. In addition to this, Scott and his team have developed and run a range of workshops aimed at teaching people about new and emerging technologies in a fun, creative, and interactive way.
Starting his company as part of a year 9 business project, Scott has grown the company from selling key-rings at local markets to now running events and workshops across the country.
BOP Industries is a Brisbane based technology and education company on a mission to inspire the next generation of digital creators, showing students around the world how they can do amazing things at any age from anywhere.
We had over 160 young budding entrepreneurial students attend the breakfast. Scott's presentation was engaging, encouraging, and full of inspiration for our students.
