Workforce Australia

This past month has been a challenging one for many in our community. Cost of living pressures continue to bite, fuel prices have risen sharply, and uncertainty in the global environment is being felt across industries here in Far North Queensland. These pressures are showing up in households, small businesses, and workplaces, and we know they are affecting the day-to-day decisions people are making about work, travel, and spending. Against that backdrop, it is encouraging to see thatCairns continues to show underlying resilience. The latest data highlights continued strength in our local labour market, with unemployment easing again and employment growth holding up, particularly in part-time roles. International tourism is also continuing its recovery, even as domestic travel softens, reminding us of the importance of adaptability across our major industries. None of this happens in isolation. The supportbeing providedd every day by Workforce Australiproviders andnd local community organisations has never been more important. Your efforts to support job seekers, employers, and vulnerable community members through a complex and uncertainenvironment makee a real difference, and we would like to thank you for the work you continue to do across theregion . As always, this newsletter brings togetherlocal opportunitiess, updates, and practical information to help people connect with work and training and to support employers navigating changing conditions. We look forward to continuingto workk alongside you to support our community.
