This morning 20 young ladies from Secondary Schools from around the region were offered the opportunity to Try a Trade with TAFE, at their Cairns Campus, focussing on Hair and Beauty. The aim of today was for the students to gain hands-on experience, should they be considering undertaking a certificate II in hair or beauty during years 11 and 12. These can also be incorporated into a school-based apprenticeship for those students who are wanting a career in these industries.
The students were highly interactive, they all engaged with the wonderful teachers at TAFE and they were doing a great job with the tasks they were given!
Unfortunately, to allow these students to have the best hands-on opportunity, numbers to this event were capped and it filled up very quickly. However, we will let you in on a secret... TAFE might consider hosting another one... we will keep you informed. Great work TAFE!
