Next Generation Chefs

On Monday 29 May, 15 year 11 hospitality students from Cairns State High School, St Mary's Catholic College, Bentley Park College and Peace Lutheran College took part in a cooking masterclass at TAFE North.

The focus was on preparing gourmet desserts including choux paste, raspberry coulis, white chocolate "snow", vanilla pastry cream and chocolate caviar.

The students were shown how to make each of these by the professional chefs at TAFE North including Alan Beggs, Darcy Greer and Andrew Pont - and then had the opportunity to make and plate up their own dessert.

It was a fantastic day.
