Apprenticeships and Traineeships

Connections with employers and training providers offering structured employment and training pathways. These opportunities allow students and school leavers to gain nationally recognised qualifications while developing practical workplace skills.

Work Experience and Workplace Exposure

Short-term opportunities that allow students to observe workplace operations, explore career options and gain a better understanding of industry expectations and responsibilities.

Mentoring

Students can receive guidance, advice and encouragement from experienced industry professionals. Mentoring relationships can help students build confidence, establish goals and better understand the steps required to enter a particular career.

Workshops

How iConnect Works

iConnect uses a structured and streamlined process to connect students and businesses.

1. Registration

Students, schools, training providers and businesses register their interest in participating in the program.

Registration information helps identify each participant’s interests, skills, needs, availability and preferred areas of engagement.

2. Matching

Participants are matched according to relevant interests, skills, industry requirements and available opportunities.

The aim is to create connections that are beneficial, realistic and aligned with the goals of both the student and the participating business.

3. Engagement

The Business Liaison Association facilitates communication and supports the development of suitable activities, connections or placements.

Engagement may include mentoring, workshops, networking, work experience, project collaboration, career discussions or introductions to potential employers.

4. Feedback and Review

Feedback is gathered from students, schools and businesses to evaluate outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.

This process helps ensure that iConnect continues to respond to changing industry needs and provides meaningful outcomes for all participants.
