Our FGF Development Design Awards Sponsors

Hosted by the Business Liaison Association (BLA) in partnership with local schools and community stakeholders in Cairns, North Queensland. 

The Business Liaison Association extends its sincere appreciation to FGF Developments for their valued sponsorship of the FGF Development Design Awards.

Through their ongoing support, we continue to strengthen pathways between education, training, and employment, empowering the next generation of students and future professionals across Far North Queensland.

 

Overview

The FGF Developments Design Awards, delivered in partnership with FGF Developments, recognise outstanding design work by senior students across Cairns and the Far North Queensland region.

These prestigious awards support students who demonstrate strong capabilities in design thinking, problem-solving, and technical drawing and who are interested in pursuing careers in the built environment, drafting, and construction industries.

The awards aim to provide both recognition and financial support, assisting students as they transition into further education and career pathways.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Schools may nominate Year 11–12 students who demonstrate excellence in at least one of the following subjects:

  • Construction
  • Design
  • Engineering
  • Industrial Graphics

To be eligible, students must:

  • Be currently enrolled in Year 11 or Year 12
  • Achieve a minimum B standard in relevant subject areas
  • Demonstrate a clear interest in pursuing a career in the built environment or design-related fields

In addition:

  • Applications must be submitted through the school’s Design and Technology Department or Careers/VET Department
  • Schools are responsible for coordinating and endorsing student submissions
  • Students must complete the Design Response Task as the core component of their submission
  • All work must be the original work of the student
  • Shortlisted students may be required to attend an interview with the judging panel
