The Ergon Energy Innovation Awards provides a unique opportunity for Year 12 students in the Far North Region interested in pursuing a career in engineering. The awards encourage students to showcase their engineering problem-solving skills.
These prestigious awards are designed to support students interested in pursuing bachelor’s degrees in the engineering fields at the tertiary level.
Cairns and region Year 12 students enrolled ATAR Engineering subjects (with a minimum achievement of B) are encouraged to enter this awards program by submitting either a virtual or physical prototype (and supporting portfolio) that provides an engineered solution to a mechanical and/or mechanisms problem.
The protype must have a focus on engineering technologies used in biomedical, aerospace, energy, electrical and mechatronics fields.
Closing Date: Monday 1st September, 2025
First Prize: $1000
Second Prize: $700
Third Prize: $300
