Our Department of Education Early Childhood Education Sponsors

Hosted by the Business Liaison Association (BLA) in partnership with local schools and community stakeholders in Cairns, North Queensland. 

The Business Liaison Association extends its sincere appreciation to the Department of Education for their valued sponsorship of the Department of Education Early Childhood Education.

Through their ongoing support, we continue to strengthen pathways between education, training, and employment, empowering the next generation of students and future professionals across Far North Queensland.

 

Overview

The Early Childhood Education Awards, presented in collaboration with the Department of Education, recognise and celebrate students who demonstrate passion, creativity, and potential for a career in Early Childhood Education.

These awards support the development of practical skills, age-appropriate planning, and understanding of child development, aligning with industry expectations in early years care.

The initiative reflects the BLA’s commitment to strengthening pathways between education and industry, supporting students pursuing careers in Early Childhood Education and Care.

 

Eligibility and Conditions of Entry

Schools may nominate students in Years 10, 11 and 12 who are studying:

• Early Childhood Studies (Applied Syllabus), or
• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

To be eligible:

• Students must be enrolled in one of the above pathways
• Each student must submit a written response based on the provided case study
• Entries must be coordinated and verified through the school’s Early Childhood or VET Department
• Schools may submit up to 12 student entries
• All submissions must be the original work of the student

 

Prize & Bursaries

First Place                                    $700

Runner Up                                   $400

Encouragement Award (x2)         $150

Please note: Final prize amounts may vary from those listed above, depending on sponsorship contributions and the number of applicants.
