Hosted by the Business Liaison Association (BLA) in partnership with local schools and community stakeholders in Cairns, North Queensland. 

The Business Liaison Association extends its sincere appreciation to Brett Moller and Complete Accounting for their valued sponsorship of the Brett Moller Legal Bursaries Award.

Through their support, we continue to strengthen pathways between education, training, and employment — empowering the next generation of agricultural professionals across Far North Queensland.

 

Overview

The Brett Moller Legal Studies Award recognise and supports outstanding Year 12 students from across Cairns and Far North Queensland who demonstrate both aptitude and genuine interest in pursuing a career in law or legal services.

This award seeks to nurture the next generation of legal professionals by encouraging regional students to pursue pathways in law and to contribute meaningfully to Australia’s legal, civic, and community landscape.

 

Conditions of Entry

Year 12 students from across Cairns and Far North Queensland who demonstrate aptitude and genuine interest in pursuing a career in law or legal services are invited to apply or be nominated by their school.

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must:

  • Be enrolled in Year 12 in 2026 and demonstrate, at a minimum, competency in English and General Mathematics.
  • Intend to pursue further study in Law (Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or a dual degree incorporating an LLB) or a related legal field at a university, TAFE, or other recognised tertiary institution.
  • Demonstrate academic merit through:
    • A Semester 1 School Report evidencing a grade of B or higher in General or Applied subjects: or
  • Be formally endorsed by their school.
  • Be willing to participate in an interview process if shortlisted.

Please note: Schools may submit up to two (2) student nominations; however, only one (1) nominee per school will be invited to attend an interview.
