Cairns RSL Sub Branch Modern History Competition 2018
Applicants are invited for the Modern History Competition 2018.
Two categories are being run – Year 11 and Year 12. Each category carries with it a cash prize sponsored by the Cairns RSL Sub Branch.
Year 11 Year 12
Winner - $300 Winner - $300
Runner up - $150 Runner up - $150
Encouragement Award - $100 Encouragement Award - $100
Winners will be presented with their prizes at the annual BLA awards ceremony. All participating students will receive a certificate of participation. The winning school will also receive a plaque. There is a limit of 6 student entries in total per school (e.g. three year 11 and three year 12 entries from one school).
The ANZAC ‘spirit’ was the single most important legacy of World War One for young Australians today.
Decide whether the above statement is an accurate interpretation of the legacy of World War One as we mark the hundred-year milestone. You are encouraged to agree, debate with or challenge the statement.
Year 11: 800 – 1000 words
Year 12: 1000 – 1200 words
