Welcome Function
Held on the evening before the Cairns Careers Expo, the Welcome Function provides an opportunity for exhibitors, sponsors, educators and invited guests to come together before the Expo begins. The evening celebrates the partnerships that make the Expo possible while offering guests the chance to network, reconnect with colleagues and build new industry relationships in a relaxed setting.
The Welcome Function has become a valued tradition of the Cairns Careers Expo, recognising the collective effort of the organisations, businesses and individuals who support career education and workforce development across Far North Queensland.

Charity Raffle Supporting Hambledon House
Each year, the Welcome Function includes a charity raffle, allowing guests to support an important local cause while enjoying the evening.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our exhibitors, sponsors and industry partners, the 2026 Charity Raffle raised more than $500, with all proceeds proudly donated to Hambledon House Community Centre.
This initiative reflects the Cairns Careers Expo's commitment to not only supporting future careers but also giving back to the Far North Queensland community.

Hambledon House Community Centre is a not-for-profit organisation that has been supporting individuals and families throughout Cairns for more than 30 years. Through a range of community programs and services, Hambledon House provides practical assistance, education, social support and opportunities that help improve wellbeing and strengthen community connections. Their work makes a meaningful difference to people experiencing hardship and helps build a stronger, more inclusive Far North Queensland community.
