2021 PORTS NORTH ENVIRONMENTAL AWARDS

PORTS NORTH ENVIRONMENTAL AWARDS 2021

Ports North is responsible for the development and management of the declared Ports of Cairns, Cape Flattery, Karumba, Mourilyan, Skardon River, Quintell Beach, Thursday Island, Burketown, and Cooktown.

Our organisation strives for excellence in environmental management and has high standards and expectations in relation to environmental performance of our Port operations.
Ports North is keen to encourage students in the environmental and science areas and is proud to be a sponsor of the “Ports North Environmental Awards”, which is a joint initiative of Education Queensland, North Queensland secondary schools, and will be presented at the Business Liaison Association’s “Annual Aspire Awards” ceremony.

We believe the Awards will -
➢ foster a greater awareness of issues effecting the local and regional coastal environment;
➢ promote and encourage careers within the environmental and science industries; and
➢ give students experience in collecting samples, conducting a research investigation, and analysing environmental subject matter
